It’s summertime, and photographer Richard Kranzin sets out on a trip with three friends into the woods of Brandenburg. A forest lake, a lonely cottage, majestic trees, the severe beauty of the ice-aged landscape: Against this backdrop, the artist tells an intimate and nearly cinematic love story in pictures between three young men. Kranzin sees his project, “The Three of Us,” as an aesthetic antipode to life in the big city; his timeless black-and-white photographs, full of lightness and romance, celebrate youthful beauty and love in all its diversity.
