Die Zahl der Kinder, die sich in Thailand als Sexobjekte ausbeuten lassen müssen, wird auf eine knappe Million geschätzt. Ihnen allen hat der thailändische Fotograf Ohm Phanphiroj mit „Underage“ ein Mahnmal errichtet. Jedes Porträt in diesem verstörenden Bildband wird von einem Profil begleitet, das u.a. das Alter des Fotografierten vermerkt: Der jüngste war zum Zeitpunkt der Aufnahme zehn Jahre alt. Sämtliche Jungen werden auch gefragt, warum sie sich verkaufen. Die Antwort lautet immer: „For money“. Und niemals: „Ich habe echt gern bezahlten Sex mit älteren Männern“. Daran sollten all jene denken, die gerne mal nach Thailand fliegen, um dort ihr Triebleben an Kindern abzureagieren. Und womöglich noch annehmen, es ginge dabei irgendwie auch um so etwas wie Liebe.
